SolPriPa 3 project launched: Know Your Rights and Obligations

In March 2025, the State Data Protection Inspectorate (SDPI) launched the SolPriPa 3 project in Lithuania: Know Your Rights and Obligations (‘SolPriPa 3 project’). The SolPriPa 3 project is co-financed by the European Union. It is expected that this project will help raise awareness among the general public as well as among small and medium-sized enterprises.

The aim of the project is to help small and medium-sized enterprises to comply with their obligations under the GDPR as well as to promote awareness and enforcement of data subjects’ rights among natural persons.

These goals will be pursued through a number of activities: creating podcasts, infographics, educational videos and other awareness-raising measures to improve the general public’s and business’ knowledge of data subjects’ rights and available remedies under the GDPR.

On the 24th of March the SolPriPa 3 project opening meeting took place. During the project's inaugural meeting, the main goals of the SolPriPa 3 project were presented, planned activities were reviewed and participants actively engaged in a creative workshop. The activities of the SDPI aim to uphold the right of individuals to personal data protection, ensure the consistent application of data protection regulations and contribute to the facilitation of the free movement of personal data. It is expected that SolPriPa 3 project will contribute to fostering a culture of personal data protection based on trust and collaboration among individuals.

The Director of the SDPI Dijana Šinkūnienė, while welcoming the meeting participants, emphasized that the requirements for personal data protection are numerous and can be challenging to implement. Therefore, it is essential to explore ways to support organizations in achieving a proper understanding of these requirements.

According to the Director of the SDPI, data protection can sometimes appear to be an overwhelming challenge for individuals. "I believe this project will help dispel myths and concerns, empowering individuals to engage more confidently with organizations on matters related to the processing of their personal data," the Director stated.

SolPriPa 3 project duration is 2 years, planned end is February 2027.

SolPriPa 3 is co-funded by the European Union through the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) programme 2021-2027.
